There is certainly an added magical element that happens when you include live music at your wedding. Live singers lighten and brighten up any event by adding a certain amount of sparkle! If you’re considering it, you’re probably wondering what it would look like to have live singers at your wedding and here is a little outline to guide you as you make your choice.
During the course of your wedding ceremony, the key times to have music could be:
- Awaiting the arrival of the bride (the Prelude)
- Arrival of the bride (the Processional)
- Hymns/Ceremony Music
- Signing of the register
- Departure of the bride and groom (the Recessional)
- Opening of Reception
The Wedding Timeline With Live Music:
Set up: Singers arrive and start setting up sound 1 hour prior to your guests arriving. Singers will do sound-check once sound is all set up.
Arrival of Guests: As soon as the guests start arriving, the live music begins.
The Ceremony: When the bridal party begins to walk down the aisle, the singers will either sing a song of the couple’s choice or choose a song of their own. The singers can also perform the Bride’s song choice for her to walk down the aisle, too. And same goes for the Groom’s choice of song.
Signing of the register: Once the bride and groom are married, Singers sing while they are signing the registry. Singers sing when Bride and Groom walk out, followed by guests.
Reception: Singers sing while guests enjoy their cocktails and canapes before heading into the reception.
