We made this fun Reel in response to a commonly asked question by our students: How Often Should I Practice Singing?Obviously your level of commitment to singing will depend on whether you view it as a hobby or potential full-time career, so the amount of practice time depends totally on YOU and YOUR goals.

Mia’s Recommended Singing Practice Time!
I recommend that all my students commit at least 30 minutes a day to practicing, as a good start. Practicing daily is more effective than practicing for two hours only one day a week. Daily practice will get your vocal and breathing muscles in shape in order to really achieve the sound you want. Consistent practice will also allow your brain to easily grasp concepts associated with good singing. It might surprise you, but going through long marathon practice sessions to make up for time missed is ineffectual!
That said, beginners who aren’t used to that could feel strain with that amount of daily practice so always listen to your body, and do what you need to do! And check-in with your vocal coach!
Additionally, we’ve talked about how practicing can help with stage fright and performance nerves! By repeating your song over and over, it becomes second nature which eases your nerves during a performance. Check out this blog post about stage fright here!
