Meet Delina Perry! We are so proud to have Delina on board as the Director and Co-Founder of Sing-It South Africa. Delina is one of those vocal coaches who pays attention to detail & challenges students to Sing “Outside of the box”. She really is sharing the skill and creating the dream. Find out more about her story here.

What’s your day job?

I am in charge of Sing-It South Africa & I teach Contemporary Voice at Buccleuch Primary, St Peters College & Crawford Lonehill.

How did you hear about and get involved in Sing-It?

Through divine intervention – a couple of years ago – I got Mia’s name and number from the ballet teacher at Kyalami Prep School! I had been through a number of different teachers, mostly classical, and thought I needed to change my style and try something new. So I started singing lessons with Mia. I used to teach “Moms & Tots” programmes, and have always been involved with kids. Mia thought I would be the perfect coach for our 3-6 year age group and our 7-15 year age group. The rest is history! I now teach at a number of schools in Midrand and am planting the seed to a life long love of music. Its such a joy to see our students grow from strength to strength.

Why Sing-It?

Mia, Sing-It’s founder, has such an amazing vision; she is so dynamic and driven. What really attracted me to Sing-It was not only this vision, but also the incredible willingness Mia shows to help me to pursue my dreams, and to really go after them.

What are your goals and dreams?

I aspire to be an amazing vocal coach for all the students I teach.

My goals are to grow my students, and to reach and work with more students. I want to see them mature into singers with a confidence in themselves and their ability in life, for them to know that we believe in them, and for them to believe in themselves.

Dreams?

Right now, I sing in a local church band. My dream is to be a professional singer one day.

Tell us something nobody knows about you?

I wear my heart on my sleeve. If you ask me anything, I’ll probably tell you!
